"The Massachusetts indie rock band Sweet John Bloom might remind you of stalwarts like Guided By Voices and Pavement, or more recent acts like Parquet Courts. But the strongest moments on their Weird Prayer LP come when they embrace the possibility that they're a power-pop band rather than an indie rock one."
