Strand of Oaks aka Philadelphia’s Tim Showalter has always put rock n roll music at the forefront of both his music and lyrical outputs but Hard Love sees him reverting to a more classically 'rock' sound compared to previous outings that have either tended to be more acoustic or electronic. With loud distorted guitars throughout and a backing band to match this is rock music from someone that knows just what that is supposed to mean.
