This is the 3rd album in the second coming of the legendary Montreal nine-piece experimental/post rock collective and their 7th in total. Luciferian Towers is comprised of four distinct movements each as intriguing as the next with its hugely heroic orchestral textures soaring guitars and perfectly precise percussion all of which captures the group's sense of musical and political narrative. The record may be one of their bleakest in terms of political context especially currently with what is happening globally as well as domestically but musically it is one of their most triumphant and positive with its pure beauty. This is transcendent music at its best - which needs to be given full attention for its entirety.
