MC Taylor & co follow up 2014's excellently laid-back Lateness of Dancers with something that hits a little harder and a lot closer to home. The focus of the album centres on the difficulty of dealing with the responsibilities to your family against those to your livelihood and art-form - to the music. Heart Like A Levee is one of the most appropriate album titles in relation to its subject matter. And whilst most might get caught under a cloud expressing these emotions musically Hiss Golden Messenger's easy-going Americana gospel folk with it's country blues and even dub vibes brightens the mood enough to balance the bitter with the sweet - the darkness with the beauty.
