Sam Shepherd aka Floating Points brings us his first 'proper' LP which has been in the making for a long time and sees him developing his sound whilst drawing inspiration from classical jazz electronic music soul & even Brazilian popular music. Elaenia is the meeting place of the dance music Floating Points has been making for years and that of his classically rooted forms which he has always hinted at. It's utterly stunning and proves that Shepherd can exist outside of dance music just as easily as he can within it.
