Lead vocalist Laura Kovic states, "We're still very much the same band, but the dials have all just been turned up a bit." This new effort showcases a band that is growing into itself, with a smartly effervescent approach to songwriting and a seemingly inexhaustible supply of swoon-inducing indiepop hooks. Throughout the album's ten offerings, Fortitude Valley draws inspiration from various pop cultural sources to explore themes such as distance, personal growth, and self-determination. For Kovic, who has been an Australian-born musician living in the UK for almost two decades, the album reflects her personal journey. She shares, "My life is now just repeatedly visiting and then feeling sad when I leave, but knowing in my heart that I am where I'm supposed to be."
