"‘Y Dydd Olaf’, which is sung entirely in Welsh, apart from one song penned in Cornish, draws inspiration from Owain Owain’s 1976 novel of the same name. The book is set in a dystopian future where robots enslave the human race through the use of medication, while Gwenno’s album covers such themes as patriarchal society, government- funded media propaganda, cultural control, technology, isolation and the importance of minority languages. ‘Y Dydd Olaf’ was initially released by Peski Records in October 2014, before being released worldwide in 2015 by Heavenly Recordings."
