"Fresh from being crowned one of Mixmag’s Artists Of The Year, Octo Octa kicks off 2019 with her latest EP ‘For Lovers’ via Ninja Tune imprint Technicolour. The record represents some of Maya Bouldry-Morrison’s most vulnerable work to date. ‘I Need You’ is a bold declaration regarding her need for love during a delicate time of rapid change. The second track, ‘Bodies Meld Together’, is a sensuous house dub while closing track ‘Loops For Healing’ was written immediately after completing her acclaimed second album ‘Where Are We Going?’ and serves as a potent reminder of why she is a musician in the first place: to heal herself and to heal others. The New York City-based house producer released her debut EP, ‘Let Me See You’ (2011), through 100% Silk. She has since had several releases, with the most recent being ‘Between Two Selves’ in 2013 followed by 2014’s ‘Cause I Love You’ EP, which earned a spot on SPIN Magazine’s 50 Best Dance Songs Of 2014. In October 2018 Eris Drew and Octo Octa dropped their four track split EP ‘Devotion’ on Portugal’s Naive Records. “Each track here was made with ecstatic love energy and the intent to communicate.” The past two years has seen intimate all night DJ sets plus live show performances to thousands at Spain’s Sonar-by-Night, Berlin’s Panorama Bar, Frankfurt’s Live At Robert Johnson and London’s Printworks, plus The Warehouse Project and ADE."
