Richmond Fontaine's 7th studio album originally released in 2007 and first to be produced at the famous Wave Lab studios in Tucson Arizona gets a much long awaited vinyl release. Singer-songwriter Willy Vlautin who is a successful novelist has a way of vividly telling stories of down and out characters in forgotten American towns. The stories here are bleak dark and as sad as ever but Thirteen Cities is more musically upbeat than other Fontaine records. If you've never listened to them this would be a great place to start.
